Before I began to study art seriously, I was (and still am), a landscape architect, consultant and garden designer. I create and implement many designs with a strong site-led naturalistic approach for show and private gardens, schools, businesses and larger public works schemes. My landscape training gave me a constant need to investigate and record the world in travel journals and sketch-books which underlies my way of seeing and thinking and which informs and challenges me all the time.
