Trying new ways of expression is part of my ongoing practice. Inventing rules and constraints give a focus to my work and sometimes generate a new direction. Studying other artists’ work and learning from it is embedded in this process, as is discovering how new materials and equipment respond. I try and enter the back door of my mind, working quickly, to see what the unconscious holds.
